She values the team-based approach, as well, and enjoys collaborating with patients to maximize success and also with colleagues in our team model to troubleshoot and develop a treatment plan that most effectively helps our patients.
Experience

Dr. Liz came to the field of physical therapy with a strong love for Exercise Science and Sports Performance. Through her years of work in orthopedics and pelvic health, she understands the complexity of pelvic health conditions and spine pain and enjoys helping patients experience authentic healing. Her experience treating all orthopedic conditions that commonly ail our patients, such as foot, knee, shoulder, and hip conditions, is invaluable in her ability to develop an effective and comprehensive treatment plan for her patients. One of the unique things we offer at Purple Mountain PT is a holistic approach and for this to work, Dr. Liz uses her general orthopedics background to properly consider the whole body in the treatment plan.
Treatment

In addition to her doctoral degree, Dr. Liz has completed advanced post-doctoral specialty courses for pelvic health through prestigious Herman and Wallace and Pelvic PT Rising. Additionally, she has clinical interest and advanced training in treating neck, back and SI joint issues. To best help her patients, she has pursued post-doctoral training and received mentorship in a variety of methods and techniques including McKenzie, Muscle Energy Techniques and Mulligan techniques which combine hands-on manual therapies with movement, a powerful combination to alleviate pain, stiffness, nerve irritation, pelvic floor dysfunction and altered movement patterns. Dr. Liz, and all staff at Purple Mountain PT, have been closely mentored by our founder, Dr. Maureen O’Keefe, DPT, in advanced clinical practice concepts and techniques. This provides our patients consistency in care as well as broadens our staff communication and skills to offer our patients care that achieves results. Liz has experience treating complex cases with a history of working in a rural area and treating many challenging impairments in adults and children including sports, musculoskeletal/orthopedics, spine, chronic pain, neurologic conditions, and of course pelvic health.
